DERBY DETAILS, RULES & REGULATIONS
All participants must register online by Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11:59pm PST Address of Venue: 2750 Bull Canyon Rd Santa Maria CA 93454
-Attendees must obey all State of California fishing regulations of (DCFW). Visit: wildlife.ca.gov/Fishing/Ocean
-Participants must obtain a valid 2021 California fishing license, (15yrs old below not required). For more information: https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Licensing
-Participants under 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent / guardian.
-Waiver forms and or parental consent must be signed and submitted before the tournament.
-All participants must obey all state fishing regulations
-Participants may fish wherever they want as long as it is within or under the current DFG
regulations.
-All fish must be line-caught with the designated one (1) fishing rod and reel on a BAIT OR
LURE
-Fish should be measured from tip of mouth to farthest tip of fin with its mouth closed
-Total of 3 largest Barred Surf Perch should be entered into the Derby for an overall total of
combined length.
-All participants must show up on August 20, 2021 between the hours of 2PM and 8PM for Registration. Surf Perch Roundup Derby will Start on Aug. 21, 2021 at 6:00 AM and End at 12;00 noon. Awards Ceremony will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
-No day of Registration will be allowed as Anglers will be out on the waters edge at 6;00 AM.
-Rain or shine the event will go on. No refunds will be given, all sales are final.
Only One(1) species will be allowed to be caught to enter into the Derby
Barred Surf Perch

QUALIFYING ENTRY | Catch and Release only
-BARRED SURF PERCH – minimum length of 12 inches to be submitted
-Total of 3 largest Barred Surf Perch should be entered into the Derby for an overall total of combined length.
-All fish must be line-caught with the designated one (1) fishing rod and reel using Bait or Lure.

-Only one (1) fishing rod is allowed per person for the duration of the event.
-All fish must be caught from shore. Fish taken from boats, personal watercraft, trolling methods,
gill-netting methods, etc are not permitted.
-Participants may fish ANY beach on our beautiful central coast area.
-Fish may not be taken from inland waterways. Fish may not be taken from Jetties, Piers or other
structures where a CA fishing license is not required.
-A special link will be provided to upload your video catch and release.
-All fish MUST be filmed/video ALIVE during the catch and release.
-Fish should be measured from tip of mouth to farthest tip of fin with its mouth closed
-All decisions by the judges are final.
-All competitors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner.
Anyone who violates the Derby rules will be automatically disqualified from this event and may be barred from participating in future Hook2Cook Events
Hook2Cook OFFICIAL requirements must be VISIBLE in the video clip(s), to be counted as an entry. (*Dead fish are not qualified entry)

The following 3 things are a Must to have your entries Qualify
1. Official Hook2Cook ID badge
2. Say the FISHING CODE: will be given out at 6:00AM day of Derby
3. Hook2Cook official measuring tape to be used to measure the Perch
-Follow instructions how to properly measure your catch (discussed at Registration)
Any missing requirements will be automatically disqualified.
-All qualifying video clip(s) must be UPLOADED and submitted using the special upload link ON THE DAY the fish were caught and released. Any videos of fish caught the day(s) before will be automatically disqualified. Video uploading opens from 6:00am and closes at 12:00pm noon on the day of the Derby. When uploading your catch, title your submission in this format: length of fish-first name ex: 14″-John Doe. Winners to be determined by the combined length of all 3 Perch caught, as measured from tip of mouth to farthest tip of fin. YES, The total combined length of all 3 fish caught will be declared the winning entries of the 2021 Hook2Cook Surf Perch Roundup Derby.

-In case of a TIE in length, the winner will be determined by whoever SUBMITTED FIRST.
-All decisions by the judges are final.

RAFFLE/ GIVEAWAY
Winner(s) must be present to claim the prize.
All registrants are automatically included in the Entry raffle drawing.
On site there will also be multiple items raffle drawing during registration and Awards ceremony.
-All raffle times will be raffled at the end of the awards ceremony
-All decisions by the judges are final.
There will be a vendor expo going on during Registration and you are welcome and encouraged to bring your Family.
-Gladiator Paintball will be providing a coral for Buck-a-roo’s and Buckarette’s ( Kids) entertainment, shooting jelly balls at each other. Ok and some of us Adults might want to join in on the fun.
-There will be Music, food and drink vendor, entertainment, and special YouTubers to meet and greet with
All competitors/participants fishing in 2021 Hook2Cook Surf Perch Roundup Derby agree to do so at their own risk. Kiwanis Noontime Club of Santa Maria, Hook2Cook, California Sportfishing Tournaments its owner, partners, sponsors or volunteers are in NO way liable for any injuries or accidents that may occur during the act of fishing or traveling, walking, to or from a fishing location.
By registering to the 2021 Hook2Cook Surf Perch Roundup Derby, you agree to indemnify and defend Kiwanis Noontime club of Santa Maria, Hook2Cook, California Sportfishing Tournaments its owner and/or volunteers against all claims, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses, including attorney fees and other litigation costs which may, in any way, arise from your participation in the 2021 Hook2Cook Surf Perch Roundup Derby.
